The Sandman is a comic book series published by DC Comics. Created by Neil Gaiman, it ran from January 1989 to March 1996.
The stories take place in an alternate universe, not the main Crossover Universe; however, elements from the stories have counterparts in the CU, and the characters have crossed over into the CU on occasion.
