The Cthulhu Mythos is a shared universe based around the work of H. P. Lovecraft. It also includes works by Robert William Chambers, Clark Ashton Smith, Robert E. Howard, Robert Bloch, Frank Belknap Long, Henry Kuttner, Henry S. Whitehead, and Fritz Leiber.
Robert Blake, the protagonist of the Cthulhu Mythos story The Haunter of the Dark, is identified as a member of the Wold Newton family in Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life (1973). The same book identifies William Harper "Johnny" Littlejohn, one of Doc Savage's aides, as a professor at Miskatonic University (a location in several Cthulhu Mythos stories) and one of the characters in the Cthulhu Mythos story At the Mountain of Madness.
